reworking a painting or drawing

Today  and yesterday I worked on reworking a painting.   I used spray paint, gesso, colored pencil, and paint on paper.

What I'm working on

I started this painting as an abstract just putting down layers of color.   The shapes and colors suggested trees then I added the angel and two birds.  I hope to have it done soon.

I love painting in the studio when it's raining.  This one is almost done.

Today started a new painting but ended up wiping it out.   Anyway I'm posting another painting using Nova texture paste.   The hair ornament has texture the rest of the painting is smoth.

A small acrylic painting using Nova brand lightweight texture paste.   I painted over an old painting and used texture paste as an experiment.  I'm liking the results.

Santa Maria Library Art Show

Open Studio is over.  Now it is time to prepare for an upcoming show at the Santa Maria Library in February.    My morning schedule is grab a cup of coffee and head to the studio.

Frida Kahlo small quilt

Finished this small quilt for Open Studio.  Decided not to show it.  Some pieces you just want to keep around for a while.   Face I painted on fabric I used scaps of commercial fabrics I had collected to piece and applique the quilt.
